Any religion, whether it's the indigenous philosophies that flourished for so long or the newer ones that recently came in, have in common this quest for awareness. At their core, there is a quest for self-awareness, or awareness of this God principle, or awareness of Source. There is a quest for answering "What is going on, who am I, and what is this system that we are in and how can I be more aware of it?"
